What was the beginning pint for your music career? How did it all start?

I started playing guitar in primary school where I met Dan. We then started playing acoustically before discovering Max hiding away in a corner and began the Mango journey.

What was the most fulfilling and satisfying moment so far?

I think the last 2 gigs we’ve had, headline shows in Brighton and Forest Row both being sold out was pretty satisfying and extremely fulfilling. Hopefully this continues because we’ve had some proper good nights on music recently.

How would you describe the music that you typically create?

I think the best way to describe our music is 70’s inspired indie-rock. Our most recent album “Kevin’s Town” is a concept album following the story of a young lad called Kevin trying to escape his hometown in search of his long-lost father and to try and save his hometown from a terrible fate. So I think we like to do things that are a bit different.

What is your creative process like?

Usually one of us brings an idea to the table and then we all craft it into a tune together. I think this works because all of us can bring our own ideas to the tunes and it brings the best parts of each of us out to make the best thing we possibly can. However, it can be a bit longwinded and we do often change songs about quite a bit.

If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?

I think how artificial some things are. I get the most satisfaction from playing live to people where you can see crowd reactions etc and properly get into the music and moment, but you don’t really get this so much with technology.

What has been the best performance of your career so far?

We recently played a gig in Soho which was mental, and the audience was so good, we were all riding off the energy so much and it was just a great night all round. I think this was my favourite one. We have some footage coming out soon from this gig so keep ya eyes and ears on officialmangoes insta and facebook!!

What is new with the band at the moment? What are you currently working on and would like to share with the world?

We have just released a brand new music video for a tune of the album called Bloom Orlando which you can watch on our YouTube now! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYwbirXke3I

We are also playing at Off the Record Festival in Hove on 13th Nov and The Hope and Ruin in Brighton on 20th December if you want to come along and see us live!!

We are also currently working on a new EP that will hopefully be coming out mid-next year.
