Greetings from Metalheads Forever Magazine, I’m Keith Clement, the editorial head, how are you today?

(Edu) Hail Keith, it’s Edu here, drummer of NervoChaos. Thanks so much for the opportunity to do this interview.

“Dug Up…Diabolical Reincarnations” is set to be released on November 19, an album of epic songs from your discography totally re written and recorded can you tell me about the songwriting and production behind it?

(Edu) We wanted a raw, organic, live sound, with no studio tricks (no plug-ins, no re-amps, no click,…), and also, to be faithful to the original songs and on how the band sounds live. It’s an upgrade for all those older songs. We recorded in May 2021, in our own studio, Abracadaver Studio, here in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The album was produced by the band and Addasi. Mixed and mastered by Brendan Duffey, all the artwork was done by Edu Nascimentto and photos by Pri Secco. In Europe the album will be released by Xenokorp Records.

The cover art is amazing, I love the way and the artistic touch towards it, can you tell me the idea and theme of the cover art?

(Edu) We wanted to rescue artwork elements from each of the albums we re-recorded. So as we dug up older songs, we thought of having a cemetery with four open graves and a total of 13 tombstones, each one with the name of a song that is on the album. Also there are some surprises on the front cover artwork, some details, such as, a tribute to our deceased guitarist, Cherry, the image of Pazuzu, a burning joint and so on.

What is the concept that revolves around this album?

(Edu) We decided to make this album to celebrate the band’s 25th anniversary, to introduce the new lineup and how the songs are sounding live.

An amazing Death Metal album, with more power, great guitar riffs and progressions with insane drum works, how as a band do you feel about the outcome of this album?

(Edu) We are very happy with the final result of this album. It’s a raw, organic and aggressive album, just like we wanted. I believe it does a deserved justice to those older tracks and reflects how this new lineup is sounding live.

What would the touring plans look like for this year and in 2022?

(Edu) We have no touring plans for this year. Our touring plans are for next year, starting in mid April, with a European tour.

The history of NervoChaos goes a long way more than 25 years of making music, how has the journey been for you guys?

(Edu) Even with all the difficulties we’ve faced along the way, we’ve done and achieved so many things, the band is still going strong, touring and releasing albums, so it’s been an amazing journey.

You have given the album as a celebration for the 25th anniversary, are there any plans for the 25th anniversary apart from the album?

(Edu) We have limited edition t-shirts and will also be releasing a songbook with 27 songs, (03 songs from each of our albums, including songs from the all-new album that will be released in 2022) with notes and tabs for guitar and bass. We also wanted to do a big tour this year but we had to cancel it due to the pandemic. So let’s hope everything goes well and we all can start touring again next year.

Would you like to share some of the great moments that you had over the years?

(Edu) I’ve been a long time Venom fan and I saw Venom live for the first time when I was 14 years old, in 1986. That show was what inspired me to start playing drums. So, a few years ago we did a European Tour together with Vital Remains, Mortuary Drape and Venom Inc. I would have never dreamed that decades later I would be touring together with all those guys – fuckin’ Abaddon and Mantas !!! – sharing the same tour bus, watching them live every night, it was all so surreal and unique that for sure is one of the most unforgettable experiences I had in my life.

What would be the message for the fans of Brazil and fans around the world?

(Edu) Thanks so much for the support!!! Follow us on our social media, take care, get vaccinated and we hope to see you all soon. Keep it fuckin’ METAL!!!
