Wednesday 13 Interview by Keith Clements

We had the pleasure to Interview Wednesday 13 (Joseph Poole) the legendary American Singer and musician. He has been popular through his Solo as well as the frontman of Murderdolls. We talked about some great things about him and his music, Let’s hear from the man:

Greetings from Metalheads Forever Magazine, how are you doing today, what’s happening right now in your world?

Hello, thanks for having me. We finished writing & recording our new album this summer and we  just finished a 2 month long tour of the US, which was 42 shows, so I’m home now trying to relax from that before the next one starts in early January.

You worked on multiple Projects and gave a great outcome, I enjoyed your other Projects as well, Maniac Spider Trash, Frankenstein Drag Queens from Planet 13, MurderDolls, Bourbon Crow and Gunfire 76, Have you ever felt that you have achieved something you really wanted to do from your childhood?

I really have achieved a lot of my goals. I’m from a small town in North Carolina and to be able to do the things I have done due to my music just amazes me sometimes. I’m very thankful for my fans and what they have allowed me to do.

How did you feel about the outcome of Monsters of the Universe: Come out and Plague which was released last  year,  I felt you have made some changes into it in terms of the theme and lyrics, Is there any reason for this change?

I’m very happy with how Monsters turned out. It was a different record for sure, lyrically, and musically. It was a natural thing for us to do what we did musically but I wanted to change something’s up lyrically, and step out of the box. The reason for the change, was just a natural progression for us. The band has really grown together over the past 6 years and it’s moved into a heavier, darker direction.

I heard about your next album which is scheduled for 2017 named “Condolences” could you give us some news about the album?

The new album is all finished, mixed and mastered. We are currently shopping it around to labels and looking for a release date as of April 2017. I think the new album is the best, most focused thing I’ve everrecorded, very proud of it.

Will you be revisiting any of your other projects in the near future?

Yes, I have my Undead Unplugged Tour coming up in the US, UK, and Australia at the first of 2017 and it will feature a set from my side project Bourbon Crow during the set.

Why did you choose the name Wednesday 13, is there a history behind it, hope people won’t forget your real name haha

I’m not really sure why I chose it, but I started using it back in 1995. I wanted something that sounded weird, and futuristic, almost like a space villain. It was also a combination of Wednesday Addams and the Munsters address 1313 Mockingbird Lane.

You gave the world your amazing music, your songs are lyrically and musically amazing, and do you feel the same happiness like we do?

It’s the best feeling in the world to move people with your music. To have fans all over the world and being able to reach them with the music and concerts is an amazing experience. I have the best job in the world and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Do you have any plans to get into the movies like Rob Zombie?

I’d like to one day, but no plans at the moment. Rob is great, loved the Devil’s Rejects and his characters from the film.

How did you come up with the Idea of putting horror into the music, did something inspire you?

I loved theme songs from movies as a kid, and I loved when the old 80s horror films had songs that went along with the movies. I wanted to do that with my music in the beginning by writing songs about all of my favorite horror films. I think over the past 20 years I’ve covered about all of them haha.

Is there anything other than music in your personal life, you can please share with us if you like?

I pretty much do music 100% of the time. If I’m off tour , I’m usually still working, but I love it.

Would you like to tell us what the best moment in your life was since you started your career in music?

I don’t know if I have a best moment, because I’ve had to many best moments. From being able to tour with some of my favorite bands from Alice Cooper, Marilyn Manson, Type O Negative to Hanoi Rocks is something I will always cherish. I’ve been very fortunate so far on this rock n roll super highway.

What was the best Concert that you seen and felt charged about the experience,  that it always stayed a memory for you, that one concert that just stuck with you?

I’ll never forget my first concert. Seeing Motley Crue on the Dr Feelgood Tour when they were probably the biggest band in the world at that time. I was 12 and it changed my life.

Thanks for your time Wednesday 13 (Joseph), It was Indeed a honor and pleasure for us to talk to you and have this Interview, Wishing you all the best from our team, Lastly, do you have a message for the fans?

Just a BIG THANK YOU to all the fans for all the years of support.
