RICHRATH PROJECT 3:13 continues to pay tribute to late/great original REO Speedwagon guitarist, Gary Richrath – with the new rockin’ single, “Heard It on the Radio,” plus performances throughout the year. Singer Michael Jahnz and Richrath Project 3:13 continue to honor the memory of the late Gary Richrath at every show, and with this new single from the album ‘LA Is Mine,’ for which its video can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44bxiDrJ5sE

“The original idea for the song ‘Heard It on the Radio’ stems all the way back to the 80’s, when I wrote most of the lyrics,” says Jahnz. “It had been put on the shelf for all these years, until one day my lead guitar player came to me with a cool riff he had been working on. The minute I heard it, I thought to myself that not only did Dennis have a killer riff on his hands, but that it would be perfect with my ‘Heard It on the Radio’ lyrics from all those years ago! I worked out the melody and completed the lyrics, and after working with Dennis and his great guitar licks, the result turned out to be this awesome jammin’ tune.”

“Everyone can picture themselves driving down the road on a beautiful summer day, crankin’ the tunes with the windows rolled down and rockin’ out with their sweetie or a bunch of friends going out for a great time for that matter. It’s definitely a feel-good tune and we can’t wait for our fans to see the kick ass music video to go with it! Filmed primarily in L.A. with a lot of the classic landmarks and sites, the feel of the video has that ‘80’s MTV rock video vibe.’ This footage combined with the live band footage shot in Minneapolis turned out to be a great combination. We hope everyone enjoys rockin’ out to this fun new summertime tune!”

It turns out that the origins of RICHRATH PROJECT 3:13 stretch back several decades. Jahnz started the REO connection when he became lead vocalist and front man for Richrath in the early ‘90s (after Gary exited REO). The pair toured together for over a decade as the Richrath Band, playing songs Gary had written for REO Speedwagon, as well as original tunes that Michael had written with Gary (releasing an album in 1992, ‘ONLY THE STRONG SURVIVE’).

RICHRATH PROJECT 3:13 continue to honor the memory of the late Gary Richrath (who passed away in 2015) at every show and are excited to soon be playing material from last year’s release, ‘LA Is Mine,’ during their upcoming US tour dates. The show also includes some of Michael’s awesome new original songs performed by the newest version of Richrath Project 3:13 with a group of very talented musicians, including Dennis Pockets on lead guitar, Scott Weber on keyboards, Antonio Acevedo on bass and Andy Crownover on drums.

Michael: “We are anxious for our fans to hear the original tunes I have written. Just like Gary had taught me all those years ago, I tried to write songs about things that mean something to me, and I believe that comes through in all the lyrics of the new songs. We feel they turned out just dynamite. We’re looking forward to seeing the reaction to our second music video as well. As far as the future, we already have songs for the second Richrath Project 3:13 album, plan on touring the country like crazy and entertaining our fans for years to come!”
