Sabbath Judas Sabbath at the Bambi galore Summer party

It‘s summer. And the Bambi galore celebrated a summer party. With grilled sausages and draft beer. In the club itself Sabbath Judas Sabbath, a tribute band for probably two of the most important Metal Acts, Black Sabbath and Judas Priest, was supposed to play this evening. A project by the Texan singer James Rivera (Helstar). In many parts of the world he has musicians who go on tour with him in the respective region. So also in Germany. And the German Chapter should give up the hell to the fans this evening. The pictures of the evening can be seen on Flickr.

But unfortunately, it turned out differently. The bassist of the band, Dirk Seifert-Dölves, had an accident. Because of the resulting problems on the intervertebral discs, he has to stay in bed. So, band leader James Rivera and Gabriele Palermo, one of his guitarists, decided to present an acoustic show. Approximately for one and a half hours, they re-interpreted songs of Black Sabbath and Judas Priest, only vocals and acoustic guitar. That was obviously new territory for James. But the two were having fun. The singer laconically meant “Country meets Metal”. And the present fans sang along on many of the songs. It was obvious that this performance had not been rehearsed before. Again, and again, both musicians looked at the printed setlist and discussed which of the songs they should play next. I cannot guarantee the correctness of my song list. An overview of the song selection made but still offers. So this “emergency solution” became an extremely successful evening. Thanks James and Gabriele. And I wish Dirk a speedy recovery. Maybe the whole band will return to Hamburg again.
