Jaded Heart have been active as a band since 1990. Before that, they were also known as TAX for four years (with the 1988 album “On The Run”). Fourteen studio albums were released during this time. Almost two years after “Stand Your Ground”, the successor “Heart Attack” is now ready. In the meantime, the band seems to have shrunk to a quartet. How this affects the band’s sound will be described in the following.

With “Blood Red Skies”, Jaded Heart go straight into the full swing. What you could already hear on the predecessor continues. Thanks to the absence of keyboards, the sound is much heavier. And that obviously is a good thing for the quartet. Even though with Peter Östros there is only one guitarist on board, the guitar parts are a showpiece. What an amazing solo right at the beginning. And “Sweet Sensation” follows seamlessly. Headbang alert. Johan Fahlberg’s voice fits like a glove. The title track “Heart Attack” stomps along, riff after riff is fired off. The song seems more melodic than the two before. Also, thanks to the sing-along chorus. “Harvester Unknown” is a midtempo rocker. But it will be difficult to play it live with only one guitar. “Lady Spider” then offers high-speed metal. Even the vocals sound a bit hectic here. This is only remedied in the chorus. The anthemic “Descent” is one of the highlights of the album. The metal fan doesn’t have to do without a (power) ballad either, because this follows with “Remnants Of Before”. After a quiet beginning, the rhythm section pushes powerfully out of the speakers. But after that it’s over. With the anthemic “Right Now”, Jaded Heart pick up the pace again. Here Niklas Dahlin (Insania) played the guitar solo. Again, a midtempo rocker can be heard, “It’s About Time”, with magnificent guitar runs. “Bridges Are Burning” is another invitation to let your hair stand on end. Before “Midnight Stalker” you can hear lower tuned guitars at first. This melodic rocker closes the album.

Jaded Heart continue to follow their path consistently. Hard but melodic guitar sound, without being softened by keyboards. And also, with only one full-time guitarist. The sound of 80s Metal sends its regards.
