What was the beginning pint for your music career? How did it all start?
It definitely began differently for all of us. But for me personally (Alex), I began wanting to perform live at 8 years old when my mom took me to a free show in a park where 3 drummers were playing together in syncopation. I tried my hand at drum lessons for years and never really got great at it, but was a natural when I first tried singing at 15 so then singing became the priority and I started performing at open mics.
Was there any bumps on the road? What kind of challenges did you have to deal with?
Of course there were. The first and most challenging of the challenges to becoming a musician is getting good. I still feel there’s a lot of ways I can improve my vocals but it took a solid 10 years at least before I started feeling in any way confident in my abilities.
What was the most fulfilling and satisfying moment so far?
Having 400 people pack the upstairs Worcester Palladium for our first headliner back in 2020.
How would you describe the music that you typically create?
Dynamic High-Driving Aggressive Intensity with a positive message aka Melodic Metalcore or Alt Metal.
What is your creative process like?
Guitarist writes some riffs and structures them. We either go with it or rework it as a band. Then I write lyrics and melodies. What a write about is typically just a reflection of what the song makes me feel.
If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?
Making it more accessible and less exclusive to people who actually have the drive and talent to make people want to see them perform.
If you were asked to give a piece of advice to upcoming bands, what would that be?
Unless you are 1000% all in on doing whatever it takes to make music your career for life, do not waste your time trying to make it anything more than a hobby. Nothing short of the purest of intentions and undeniable passion will ever render anything past the bottom floor of this industry, unless you’re related to a famous musician or industry professional, or have a very rich family. Of course talent being a pre requisite for even those to work. At the same time, if you have a deep feeling that this is your calling and nothing that happens or anything anyone says can change that, simply follow the path before you and never give up on yourself and you will absolutely find success. Also please don’t waste time comparing yourself to other people. Take notes from others success but don’t ever get down on yourself on things like age or not being able to pull off something within the timeframe someone else did. Do your very best in your lane and you’ll be fine.
What has been the best performance of your career so far?
Most recently we played with our friends in Tallah and Enox in Providence RI at Alchemy and I feel that may have been the best set we have ever played live. We’re always working to improve our live set so our fans will continue to support us \m/
If you didn’t become a musician, what would you be doing now?
I’d (Alex) either be a veterinarian or a psychologist.
What is new with the band at the moment? What are you currently working on and would like to share with the world?
We just dropped a new single “Vitriol” a couple weeks ago! As to what else we are working on, I cannot yet reveal that to the world, however more new music is a given!
