Ancient Teeth (Adrian Mottram – Sights & Sounds, Seas, The Getaway) is ready to get this 2024 show on the road. Today, comes a new single – ‘Sacrifice’ is available to stream everywhere now. Even more excitingly, is the announcement of a new album on the way! ‘HUMANIZER’ will be yours to sink your own teeth into on March 8th, 2024.

On the new track, Mottram says: “This anthemic post punk banger reflects on being aware of uncomfortable feelings arising from within ourselves and making the necessary changes in order to move forward in a positive way. The music builds on a steady unrelenting drum beat, matched with heavy down picking guitars that burst into chaos with vocals to match.

The forthcoming sophomore album, ‘HUMANIZER’, is crystallized around a perception of universal oneness that Mottram experienced during the pandemic. “It starts with a ferocious explosion of energy and slowly breaks apart through contemplative moments and dreamy atmospheric tangents,” Mottram explains. “A lot of the songs are written from an intimate perspective and celebrate my feelings for different people in my life. Chris wrote three of the songs and having his voice included enriches the overall narrative. Trish Robb singing on the album was essential as well, so she took the lead on Vanishing Light.” Recurring characters like Ryan Dhale (Age Of Electric), Jordy Birch (Pure), Katrina Natale (Devin Townsend) and even Mottram’s parents make guest appearances.

Just a couple of days ago, Ancient Teeth also shared a video for ’Sacrifice’, which sees Mottram experimenting with the use of AI technology. Check it out below!

Ancient Teeth is unhinged ‘Dream Noise’. Stacked, fuzzed out guitars woven together with soaring, lush vocals, the music evolves effortlessly from heavy punk rock to atmospheric acoustic murals. The anthemic, guitar driven debut album ‘Deathbed‘ was released in early 2023 and is a landmark display of musical maturity. Emotionally rich, the album deals thematically with the heavy lessons that age and experience teach.

The project began in 2019 as a personal outlet for Mottram to focus on songwriting while processing major life events. Backed in the studio by a legendary lineup of veteran musicians who are closer to getting a root canal than starting a TikTok page, including guitarist Chris Hughes (Moneen, Seas), bassist Jahmeel Russell (Red Vienna, Actors, KEN mode), and drummer Mike Duffield (Beams, Flowers From Hell), the incredible musicality that is birthed when musicians support one another, unequivocally, shines through on every recording.

When I started Ancient Teeth I was living in Vancouver, experiencing the circle of life first hand, and I didn’t really have a plan beyond making an album – which eventually became Deathbed (LP1). Chris, Mike & Jahmeel were instantly there for me as friends, and delivered flawless performances. They have continued to show up every time a record is ready to go and that absolutely rules.” reflects Mottram.

Simply put, Ancient Teeth is Mottram’s mind and soul on a silver platter, held up and put on display with the help of a solid group of friends who collect to celebrate making music for music’s sake. “The impetus aims to inspire positivity and light against all of the ever-growing darkness in the world. I was put on this earth to make records and want to share that.
