Interview With Bill Hudson

By Keith Clement

Greetings Bill, I’m Keith from Metalheads Forever Magazine, how are you doing?

Bill Hudson: I’m very well, thanks! Currently sitting in a Tour Bus between Apeldoorn and Leeuwarden, Netherlands, in the middle of the I Am Morbid/Vital Remains/Atrocity/Sadist tour.

How is things going on with Northtale, do you guys have planned something for 2019?

BH: Absolutely! Our album comes out this summer via Nuclear Blast and we have two festivals booked, one in Sweden and one in Japan. We’re also looking at a few touring opportunities. Should be a busy second half of the year.

In April you toured with Doro Pesch and Metal Church, can you tell us about the experience, and how happy you were touring with them?

BH: It was great! Not only is Doro a complete sweetheart, her band members are really good friends! Metal Church put out a killer set each night and it was a pleasure to watch them! I hope we can do more soon.

How is the journey in being a musician, do you love all that you have done over the years?

BH: Absolutely! I couldn’t be any more proud!

If there was an option other than being a musician what would you have chosen to do?

BH: I get that question all the time, and I honestly don’t know. Maybe some sort of scientist or research or computer dude… I don’t know haha!

What would be the best moment in your life so far, and tell me why do you feel that is more special?

BH: there’s been lots of them! The Trans-Siberian Orchestra opening night in 2015, when my mom actually sat in the audience and saw me play was pretty special. So was the headlining Wacken Open Air set earlier that same year… there’s been a few big ones.

What are some of the plans you are making in 2019?

BH: well there’s the NorthTale plays I answered above, plus I should be doing some more shows with Doro in the fall. Hopefully some more I Am Morbid appearances as well!

Bill, it was really nice to have this interview with you, do you have a message for the fans?

BH: Be on the lookout for NorthTale’s debut album, “Welcome To Paradise”, which is coming out this summer worldwide via Nuclear Blast! See everyone on the road!
