BLACK OPAL
featuring the radio release BEAUTIFUL CONFUSION
out 25/11/24
“all men, all men are brothers, why can’t we just love one another?”
Black Opal are a 4-piece rock band based in Belfast whose sound primarily fuses melodic and riff laden guitar, matched by poignant, biting lyrics, backed by a pulsating rhythm section of guitar, bass & drums. Formed in 2022, they began working on and developing a series of songs that would go on to form the basis of their debut album, ‘Divine Accusations’. The album offers an honest take on the group’s major influences while exploring themes of love, loss and aspects of the human condition. Their music pays homage to their love of riff heavy melodic rock. With more than a nod to the classic sounds of the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, the rock & alternative music scenes of their youth, the heavy sound of 90s grunge & indie Britpop underlined by punks musical honesty and in your face, do it yourself appeal.
The band will be releasing ‘Beautiful Confusion’
their 1st single from the album on 25th November across all platforms

Shane Diamond’s song writing on this album is primarily based on his use of intricate chord progressions, matched with ambitious arrangements, while his guitar sounds and style owe much to his admiration of the work of Johnny Marr, John Squire, Mark Knopfler and Neil Young. Shane along with Phil McCabe (bassmeister) previously members of The Mill, hooked up anew pre ’22 with a desire to collaborate on an exciting new project. Their musical chemistry as strong as ever, they eagerly brought Dee McCann (vocals and guitar) and Sean ‘Loguey’ Logue (drums) on board to complete the line-up. With an unyielding self-belief in their strong musical chemistry, the band are determined to make their mark. Currently gigging in anticipation of the release of their debut album, Black Opal are aiming to make a name for themselves in the local and national music scene.
