Hello and welcome to our metal kingdom.

Hello and thank you for the invitation!

-Pack a bag. We are heading to Valhalla. How does that look like to you? Describe your own version of heaven.

I am ready! With the sword in my hand, Valhalla I’m coming!

My version of Heaven? I like simple things. Any place where I can relax and clear my head while listening to my favorite metal albums is heaven!

-Clearly you did not compromise at all on this record. Zero fillers whatsoever. How do you avoid unsatisfying patterns, stay true to your values and manage to have it all in the end?

I just grab my guitar -usually at the end of the day- and I am trying to describe with words and sound things that I want to say but I have no other way to do it. Mostly everyday difficulties but converted in an epic metal way like the music we grew up with. I’m not following any patterns or musical rules because simply I don’t know them. I just want to be honest and to express myself without any fillers.

-Not to be a stormbringer but do you think the album would be as well received if Warrior Path was formed by a set of equally good yet lesser known musicians?

It’s true that the participation of known musicians is a good promotion of your album. However, I wanted to make my debut album with them, not because they are well known, but because of their professionalism and most importantly because they love what they are doing. They are great musicians and great guys and they helped me a lot! I was really happy when they accepted to participate and really impressed when I heard the songs completed. It’s not easy to find musicians who can share with you the same thoughts and ambitions and most importantly those who have the experience to help and not want to take advantage of your inexperience.

-There is only one memory that remains, which brings you back to where you started: Walk us through your personal path. We want to know the interesting, behind the stage facts, that we cannot Google.

Everyone has its own path to cross and every path has its own difficulties depending on the choices you make. Is good to have memory in order to avoid the same mistakes. I try to be a warrior, never to give up until I fulfill  my dreams. Like this album that was my dream since I was 18 years old. Something interesting might be that I have studied Naval Architecture and I work in the Maritime Industry for over 10 years now. It’s a very interesting job, I travel a lot but it’s also very stressful and leaves me limited free time. My daily job, as Naval Architect, inspired me to write the song “Mighty Pirates”. I wanted to write something relevant with ships and sea but in a heavy metal way!

-So, who will be singing your next album’s epic tale? Any ideas? Is there a wish-list?

We did a post through our facebook page, clarifying that Yannis is not a full member of Warrior Path and the comments below the post gave us some very good ideas! I have a few names in my mind, but I would like to keep it as a surprise. I believe that you won’t be disappointed. We like also the idea of having a different singer in each album.

-What do you do when passion dies and your memories overcome your fears?

The only way to move on and avoid having your fears as a dark shadow in your future is to face them. A warrior has to fight himself first, in order to give an end to the battle between mind and fear to close the chapter which doesn’t passionate him anymore and then he moves on.

-Let’s get epic: How drunk would you have to be to perform in a manowar-ish leather-speedo- fur-boots kind of outfit?

Drunk? Why? You described my daily outfit!! (haha!) I would do it for a couple of shots!!

-Complete the sentence: Never trust a person who________?

Never trust a person who likes only the first albums of the bands!

-To quote Rob, on High Fidelity: ‘Books, records, films – these things matter. Call me shallow but it’s the fuckin’ truth’. Name one of each for us, please.

It’s very difficult to name only one of each, but I will try!

Lord of The Rings (J.R.R. Tolkien)

Seventh Son of a Seventh Son (Iron Maiden)

Heavy Trip (Hevi Reissu, 2018)

-Let’s see if we can continue this conversation live: Any potential tour dates?

We want to make some live performances, but it’s difficult to schedule any tour dates, because our time is limited and Yannis was a guest vocal performance. I hope to be able to make it a full time band and perform live shows in the near future.
