When narrow-mindedness and blame become a way of life. When you pin your problems on the world around you and expect others to fix everything. When you constantly need help just to get through the day. This helplessness and passivity is the theme of Peterified’s debut single and musicvideo “Helpless” – an addictive shot of energy with influences from Europe and Queen.
“Helpless” is featured on the debut album “Trial By Fire” which will be released this fall.
Peterified is the brainchild of singer and songwriter Peter Johansson (formerly of Magasin 99 and Amber Lynxx). Together with childhood friends Mikael Johansson (ex-Magasin 99, Free Alloy) and Mattias Ingvarson (ex-Poker), he’s created Trial By Fire – a powerful blend of heartfelt singer-songwriter craft and muscular arena rock. The lineup also features bassist Johan Wallerstedt (Fornfela, among others) and drummer Anton Roos (ex-Seventh Crystal, ex-Saffire).
The album is produced and mixed by Victor Olsson (Saffire, Gathering Of Kings), and mastered by none other than Grammy-winning, multi-platinum engineer Thomas “Plec” Johansson (Nestor, The Night Flight Orchestra, Gathering Of Kings, Perfect Plan, The Gems, Soilwork, Evergrey, and more).
While Håkan Hellström paints his romantic portraits of Gothenburg, Peterified turns the spotlight on Mölndal – the scenic former mill town just south of the city. Neighborhoods like Kikås and Kvarnbyn, the waterfalls at Götafors, Gunnebo Castle, and lakeside party spots such as Horsikan and Södra Långevattnet form the emotional backdrop to Trial By Fire – a coming-of-age soundtrack filled with big guitars and even bigger choruses.
