What was the beginning pint for your music career? How did it all start?

Hollow Zoo started in 2022 as a way for two friends to write a few songs and maybe release them as singles. That reignited a spark and we just started writing a lot of material. We added more members and replaced the original drummer, at that point we decided we liked our material and each other enough to keep making music together.

Was there any bumps on the road? What kind of challenges did you have to deal with?

I don’t think we have been through anything that a million other bands haven’t dealt with. That’s kind of the thing about music, it’s created from emotion and so everything that a musician goes through, including your struggles, can be inspiration to make great art.

What was the most fulfilling and satisfying moment so far?

It’s a tie between releasing our video for our single “Filth Box”, and releasing our album “T.V. Static and Hate” which just dropped a few days ago. The first of those because we did the entire video in house and

How would you describe the music that you typically create?

It’s kind of a hybrid between hard rock and metal with a little bit of punk rock thrown in.

What is your creative process like?

Typically for Hollow Zoo we like to work out the structures of the songs first. Once we get a basic structure down then we all work on the music until we have something we like enough to start the vocal process. Occasionally we start with a vocal first and then build form there.

If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?

Simple, put more money in the pockets of the artist and less in the pockets of large corporations. I think the CEO of Patreon actually has a great plan for that and I would hope that artists and fans support him in the changes he wants to make.

If you were asked to give a piece of advice to upcoming bands, what would that be?

To steal a great quote “Never mind the bullocks” This industry like a lot of others is filled with a lot of users and hustlers that only see you as a pay day. You can’t let it stop you from putting out the art that you want.

If you didn’t become a musician, what would you be doing now?

All of us have a background in the music industry so we’d probably all be doing something related. Maybe working as sound engineers and techs.

What is new with the band at the moment? What are you currently working on and would like to share with the world?

We have ton of stuff planned for the next 12 months. We just released our debut album “T.V. Static and Hate” which is streaming everywhere now. We are getting ready to release our merch line-up which includes a comic book about the band, T-shirts, patches and if you like physical media, we’ll have Vinyl’s and CDs of the album. We have some live gigs coming up at at the end of the year in Las Vegas, L.A. and Pheonix, AZ.
