Edmonton, Alberta, Canada — Canadian female-fronted hard rock and melodic metal band BONEYARD is back in full force with their brand-new single and music video “Hanging Tree,” now available on all streaming platforms. This marks the third single from their upcoming sophomore album Black Static — and it’s one wild ride.
The “Hanging Tree” video delivers a tongue-in-cheek Western Metal showdown packed with gunslingers, outlaws, a sultry goth cowgirl, and a hangman’s noose. It’s equal parts grit, groove, and gallows humor- showcasing Boneyard’s ability to blend heavy hooks with cinematic flair. Fans of Raging Slab, Reverend Horton Heat, and The Four Horsemen will love it.
Formed in 2015 by vocalist/guitarist Pamtera and drummer Jefftimus, Boneyard first made waves with their debut album Oathbreaker , featuring the singles “Fates Warning,” “Oathbreaker,” and “Evil Ways.” The album was mastered in Los Angeles by Grammy-nominated, Juno-winning engineer Maor Appelbaum ( Faith No More, Annihilator ).
Over the years, Boneyard has become a standout force in the Canadian rock and metal scene, performing across Western Canada at events like Decimate Metalfest, Pembina River Nights, and Shockerfest- and sharing stages with 96 Bitter Beings, KingDoom, and Deadwolff.
The band’s strength isn’t just in their riffs — it’s in their representation. With a Métis drummer and a female bassist from the LGBTQ+ community , Boneyard embodies inclusion, power, and authenticity while proudly flying the flag for melodic metal.
So saddle up and ride out with Boneyard’s “Hanging Tree.” It’s dark, it’s heavy, it’s tongue-in-cheek — and it’s 100% badass.
