NOVEMBER bursts onto the hard rock scene in 2025 with the creation of their debut album, „The Long Way Home“.
The band’s homepage in November is full of praise for their debut album. The Spaniards around singer Dani G. (Steve Vai, among others) are obviously not lacking in self-confidence. Work on the album began in early 2024, which could also be when the band was founded. Genre greats of eighties hard rock such as Guns n’ Roses, Bon Jovi and Whitesnake are cited as influences.
The guitar riffs from both stereo sound channels start without any introduction on ‘Tear Down The Kings’. Dani G. can convince right from the start with his clear and powerful voice. And yes, you feel taken back to the glorious eighties. Also, thanks to the great guitar solo. On the mid-tempo ‘Never Lose Your Hopes’, the two guitarists receive additional support from Bumblefoot. I assume the guitar solo was recorded by him. Of course, a sing-along chorus is a must. ‘Skyfall’ is then much calmer. A first beautiful power ballad, with excellent vocals by Dani G. But ‘One of A Kind’ really gets going. Both guitarists are literally competing with each other. ‘When The Door Is Closed’ is characterised by strong riffs and rhythmic drumming. After a brisk start, the song moves into the mid-tempo range. Once again, the refrain is easy to sing along to. The guitars at the beginning of ‘Don’t Pray For Me’ sound a little distorted. What follows is a Hard Rock song, mostly at medium speed. Only during the refrain does the tempo pick up a little and the singer is whipped up by hard riffs. The title track ‘The Long Way Home’ starts with a short bass solo. After that, both guitarists drive their comrades-in-arms forward. But singer Dani G. calms the song down a little. In ‘Egomaniac’, the guitars dominate, sometimes as rhythm guitars and then again as lead guitars. ‘All I Need Is You’ is the next contemplative ballad. Dani G. is partly accompanied here by an acoustic guitar. After that, ‘Vegas Queen’ really gets going again. The drums and guitar riffs get things moving. Sounds a bit like Southern Rock. All good things come in threes. The musicians from November probably think so too. ‘Never Said Farewell’ is ballad number three. This time characterised at times by piano sounds. On the final song, Shot From Your Heart’, you can enjoy a solo by guitar hero Gus G.. Here the guitar riffs make their mark one last time.
With ‘The Long Way Home’, November have produced a convincing debut album. A great moment of melodic Hard Rock. Dani G.’s vocals are outstanding. The two guitarists are in no way inferior to their well-known guest musicians. Bass and drums provide a solid rhythmic basis.
