TERAMAZE DROP NEW SINGLE “TO CONSUME” — AND TAKE A STAND AGAINST SPOTIFY’S NEW ARTIST CONDITIONS

Melbourne progressive metal titans TERAMAZE have just unleashed their brand new single, “To Consume,” — a dark, cinematic and brutally melodic anthem that tears through the modern chaos of greed, distraction, and self-destruction.

But this release isn’t just another digital drop — it’s a statement.

With Spotify’s new artist policies causing a storm across the industry, TERAMAZE have decided to release “To Consume” early, and everywhere but Spotify.

“We’re done feeding the machine,” says Teramaze’s Dean Wells. “The new conditions being forced on artists are insulting — they’re trying to consume the very people that built their platform. We’d rather drop our music directly to the fans who actually give a damn.”

The band’s decision echoes a growing wave of frustration among musicians who’ve seen their art devalued by algorithms, unfair royalty models, and manipulative streaming thresholds. TERAMAZE, true to their reputation for authenticity and defiance, are taking the power back — and To Consume is the perfect sonic embodiment of that rebellion.

Mixing razor-sharp riffs, haunting vocal layers from Nathan Peachey, and Wells’ signature production brilliance, To Consume pushes the band’s modern progressive metal identity further than ever before — equal parts rage, elegance, and message.

“We dropped it without warning, without the usual streaming hype cycle,” says journalist Johnny Inferno. “Because this isn’t about playlists or payouts — it’s about reminding people that metal still stands for something.”

To Consume is available now via Bandcamp, YouTube, Apple Music, and all major platforms — except the one that’s forgotten who music is really for.
