From the bowels of Bari, Apulia comes Italy’s festering death metal desecrators Liquid Rot, exhuming their foul debut EP, ‘Fucked on a Tomb’, out now via Iron Fortress Records on digital, CD, and cassette.
Like the undead lumbering through the fog, ‘Fucked on a Tomb’ delivers six killer tracks of stomping yet at times creepily atmospheric death metal, entwined with two eerie, synth-driven instrumentals that hark back to the vintage era of haunting horror scores, summoning the intensity and dread, of Fulci, Tenebro, early Cannibal Corpse, and Undergang. From the swampy bass intro of the title track to the manic whammy bar abuse on ‘Raped in Mucus’, Liquid Rot pull the listener into the sonic equivalent of a grainy horror VHS, where the line between fiction and reality blurs with every haunting frame.
Formed in 2023 amid the murky depths of the Apulian underground, Liquid Rot quickly carved their name into the local scene. After lineup changes in early 2024, the band unleashed their most focused and feral material yet, culminating in a signing with Iron Fortress Records in September 2025. Having already left a trail of gore-soaked stages with Tenebro and Undertakers, Liquid Rot are now set to strike again, with upcoming shows alongside Fulci, Vulvectomy, and Bunker 66.
