Formed in 2022 and hailing from Plymouth, DeathAssault features Darrell Baker (vocals), Bill Mander (guitar), Jake Ackrell (guitar), Wiktor Osiecki (bass), and Levi Spry (drums). Drawing from a wide spectrum of influences, the band deliver a powerful sound fuelled by angst, passion, and volatility. Fast becoming renowned for their intense, energy-charged live performances, DeathAssault are emerging as part of a new wave of metal bands poised to break through.
Inspired by the likes of Sepultura, Lamb of God, Slayer, and Slipknot, DeathAssault channel the drive and ferocity of thrash while injecting intensity, and complexity. The result is music that is unrelenting, primitive, and truly expressive.
To date, the band have shared stages with Escuela Grind, RXPTRS, Vampires Everywhere, and Tortured Demon, tearing through venues across the South West. Their 2023 debut EP marked a significant breakthrough, strengthening their foothold in the UK metal scene and laying the foundations for their forthcoming full-length release. Their impending album, pushes boundaries, and captures the unrestrained power of the band’s live shows while delivering a message that is both intense and deeply personal. “This album isn’t just a collection of songs. It’s a statement,” says frontman Darrell Baker. “This is who we are—raw and real. It’s a musical interpretation of our souls, minds, and beliefs. We want people to think—about the world, about themselves, and about what they’ve done in life. This is DeathAssault.”
