Brazilian melodic death metal band Erudica has unveiled “Resistance Unchained”, a powerful new single and music video that marks the beginning of the most ambitious phase of its career to date. Released on February 4, the single is the first official preview of the upcoming full-length album Burnt Imperium and stands as a bold manifesto of the band’s current mindset — aggressive, defiant and fully aligned with its growing international expansion.

The first release featuring Erudica’s new lineup, “Resistance Unchained” follows the band’s debut EP Master Of Chaos and establishes the conceptual foundation of Burnt Imperium, set to be released later this year via international label Kvlt und Kaos Productions. Lyrically, the song explores themes of control, manipulation, alienation and resistance, portraying individuals conditioned from birth to obey oppressive systems until a moment of awakening — when breaking invisible chains and rejecting false promises becomes a matter of survival. Sonically, the track delivers dense riffs, striking melodies and direct, combative choruses, transforming sound and message into a call for rupture.

“Resistance Unchained” was written and produced by Patrik Corrêa and Caroline Ferreira, with mixing, mastering and co-recording handled by Niko Teixeira at Audiolab Extreme Studio.

The song’s message is further amplified in its official music video, filmed in an open and stripped-down location. The empty setting symbolizes the abandonment of imposed structures and the post-rupture moment, where there are no more mechanisms of control — only awareness and confrontation. The wide landscape reinforces the idea of transition and freedom, while distant background elements represent a fading empire, still present but no longer in command. In the foreground, Erudica turns performance into a visual manifesto, reinforcing the song’s core message.

Formed in 2020 by vocalist Caroline Ferreira and guitarist Patrik Corrêa, Erudica now finds itself at a pivotal point in its trajectory. Following the official announcement of a European tour in 2026, with confirmed dates in Portugal, Romania, Hungary, Spain, and more to be revealed, the band shifts its focus to a renewed creative phase driven by artistic maturity, strategic planning and a reinforced lineup.

As part of this new chapter, Erudica recently welcomed Dragos Iulian on bass and Micael Sousa on drums. More than a lineup change, the addition of the new members represents a creative surge already evident in rehearsals, songwriting and preparation for upcoming releases. According to Patrik Corrêa, fans can expect a significant leap forward:

“This phase represents a huge step for Erudica. The new lineup is extremely cohesive, and that directly impacted the songwriting process. This new material is one of the strongest, heaviest and most well-structured works we’ve ever done.”

Caroline Ferreira highlights the importance of the European tour and the energy brought by the new lineup:

“Europe has always been a territory we wanted to reach. Arriving there now, with a renewed lineup and so much energy, makes everything even more special. Dragos and Micael brought new ideas, maturity and a very intense creative exchange. The shows will reflect exactly this moment.”

Carrying strong Brazilian pride and a distinctive aesthetic, Erudica continues to deliver high-level extreme metal capable of dialoguing with the global scene without losing its roots. Addressing urgent themes ranging from environmental devastation to resistance against dehumanizing forces, the band forges a deep connection with its audience. More than crossing borders, Erudica is redefining its space and solidifying its path as a symbol of persistence, excellence and the creative power of Brazilian metal.
