TEENAGE JOANS release new single ‘Bandits’
Debut UK headline tour announced for May 2026

Fast-rising Adelaide juice-box punk-pop duo Teenage Joans have today unveiled their new single, ‘Bandits’, marking the first taste of the band’s next era. The release follows a whirlwind run of live shows that has seen the duo share stages with Foo Fighters, Sum 41, Nothing But Thieves and Sleeping With Sirens.
With its infectious chorus, heart-on-sleeve lyricism and a fresh genre-blending edge, ‘Bandits’ signals an exciting new chapter for Teenage Joans as they continue their rapid rise.
Speaking of the new single vocalist and guitarist Cahli Blakers shares, “Bandits is the first glimpse into the next chapter of TJ’s. The chorus came to us so easily, and we kept it from a writing session knowing we had to use it because it was too good to lose. Early 2025 we went on a beach trip to write some songs and this one was one we ended up finishing. We really wanted to blend a country vibe with our classic pop punk. The song is about feeling an intense connection to someone, so much so that you would do anything for them and rule out the worst because you love them so much, like a Bonnie and Clyde style romance.”
The band have announced that they will embark on their debut UK headline tour this May. The tour kicks off at Liverpool Sound City on 3rd, taking in shows in Glasgow, Leeds, Birmingham. Bristol and London, before ending in Brighton at The Great Escape on the 13th. The band are also set to join Hot Mulligan in Melbourne this April. See all dates below:

The duo first rose to national attention after winning triple j Unearthed High in 2020, quickly cementing themselves as one of the country’s most exciting emerging acts. Their debut EP Taste of Me landed early support, followed by back to back appearances in the triple j Hottest 100 (#87 in 2020, #84 in 2021) and a record breaking seven wins at the 2021 South Australian Music Awards, including Best New Artist, Best Live Performance and Best Release. They were also named Best Punk Artist in 2022, 2023 and 2024.
Momentum continued to snowball as Teenage Joans toured extensively across Australia and the US, sharing stages with Foo Fighters, Sum 41, Sleeping With Sirens, Amy Shark, Noahfinnce, Pale Waves, Ball Park Music, The Chats and more. Their explosive live sets have earned them spots at major festivals including Splendour in the Grass, Laneway, Good Things, Groovin the Moo, Unify Gathering, Spin Off and SXSW Austin.
In 2023, the band released their acclaimed debut album The Rot That Grows Inside My Chest via Domestic La La / UNIFIED. The record debuted across seven ARIA chart categories and received a nomination for Best Hard Rock/ Heavy Album, alongside an accompanying short film that reimagined the album through a surreal, Alice In Wonderland inspired lens.
Throughout 2024 and into 2025, Teenage Joans continued expanding their global footprint, returning to the US for headline support runs and national tours, supporting PUP and Slowly Slowly across Australia, showcasing at Music Matters Singapore, performing at Harvest Rock Festival alongside The Strokes and appearing in London as part of The Great Escape’s ‘First Fifty’
Now entering their next era, Teenage Joans are perfecting their sound while retaining the urgency and heart that made fans fall in love in the first place. Fiercely independent and constantly evolving, the duo are not slowing down and they’re doing it their way.
