Deflecting Ghosts is a rock and alternative metal band based in Hutchinson, Kansas. What began as Luke Fitzgerald’s personal creative refuge during the final chapter of his previous band has since grown into a powerful trio. In early 2025, Lukes wife and longtime collaborator Rhema and drummer Austin joined the project, deepening its emotional core and expanding its sonic reach. Their music channels the spirit of a time when rock was raw, honest, and unafraid to feel, fusing grit with melody in a way that hits hard and lingers.
With decades of musical experience, from classical guitar roots to self-taught piano, bass, drums, and vocals, Luke draws from a lifetime of personal battles and triumphs. Rhema brings her own voice to the band’s rhythm section, crafting bass lines that reflect a shared history of resilience and redemption. Austin, a precise and intuitive drummer, provides the dynamic backbone of their evolving sound.
Deflecting Ghosts’ latest single, « Broken », marks their first full-band release. A deeply personal track years in the making. It stands alongside earlier works like « Lost My Mind » and « Passion of the Scorned », which laid the foundation for the band’s emotionally charged, authentic style.
