DAMNA is a compositional duo founded in 2022 by Tiferet (under the sign of Ereshkigal – lyrics, vocals, composition, arrangements, production) and Altarias (guitars, composition, arrangements, co-production, programming, mixing and mastering).
From its earliest stages, the project defined its visual identity: the logo originated from an initial sketch by Tiferet and was later refined with the participation of renowned artist Christophe Szpajdel, reaching its current form.
Over the years, the project developed and matured its material, allowing the compositions to evolve until the completion of the writing and recording process between 2025 and 2026.
Through dark, ritualistic and decaying atmospheres, DAMNA builds a sonic imagery based on symbolic tension, transformation and existential descent.
Sangueacqua Release
The project announces the release of the new album “sangueacqua”, scheduled for June 2, 2026. The release will be available in both digital and physical formats. The record unfolds as a treatise on damnation across ten movements tracing a slow descent between damnation and existential collapse.
The title — “sangueacqua” — describes a point of tension where matter and consciousness consume themselves. In certain Southern cultural contexts, the expression “sangueacqua” also conveys a sense of deep inner anguish, the act of tormenting oneself.
Through alternating oppressive and frenetic atmospheres, “sangueacqua” develops a path suspended between corporeal dimension and introspection. Latin invocations, images of ruin and philosophical undertones contribute to shaping the conceptual identity of the album, culminating in the final track Weltschmerz, evoking the weight and condemnation of universal sorrow.
