RELEASES NOSTALGIC ‘POP-UP’ MUSIC VIDEO FOR “I WAIT FOR YOU TO FALL” – WATCH HERE

Hauntingly poetic and fiercely independent, Lindsay Schoolcraft returns from the shadows with an announcement of a new album Harrowing, out June 19. Thanks to Motionless in White producer Justin deBlieck co-piloting this time around in the studio, it shines with a more metallic edge than previous records.

The band’s third full-length studio album is a searing chronicle of survival, rebirth, and healing from the severity of narcissistic abuse. Known for weaving elements of Nu Metal, Metalcore, and Rocktronica, while still including the classical elements of strings and choirs, this record offers a variety of sounds as you move from song to song, but Lindsay’s voice anchors as the centre piece that keeps the listener’s journey consistent.

Thematically, Harrowing is both a sonic exorcism and a spiritual reckoning. Each of the album’s seven tracks represents a chapter in the survival and healing process: from awareness and sorrow to anger, revenge, hope, and ultimately, letting go. The lead single, “Crucified,” is a powerful anthem for survivors — steeped in religious metaphor, righteous fury, and brutally candid lyricism. The artwork, based on Alphonse Mucha’s L’Illustration (Noël 1897), reinforces the album’s dual themes of death and rebirth.

Collaborators include guest harsh vocalist Krista Shipperbottom on the track “So Alive”, Rocky Gray (former Evanescence) and Spencer Creaghan (Canadian media megastar) return again as composers along with Brian Cook. Lindsay’s own band members, guitarist Cody Johnstone and drummer Dylan Gowan, also contributed greatly in shaping these songs and helping complete them.

With Harrowing, Lindsay Schoolcraft invites listeners into her most personal work yet — a journey through pain, resilience, and, ultimately, freedom

Alongside the announcement, Lindsay Schoolcraft releases a new ‘pop-up’ style music video to coincide with recently released single “I Wait For You To Fall,” that fuses elements of metalcore, nu metal, and rocktronica into a bold, genre-blending sound. Drawing heavy inspiration from late ’90s and early 2000s trailblazers such as Korn, The Prodigy, and Republica, the track delivers a nostalgic yet modern sonic experience that highlights Schoolcraft’s evolving artistry.

MORE ON LINDSAY SCHOOLCRAFT:
Lindsay Schoolcraft draws inspiration from boundary-pushing artists like Evanescence, The Birthday Massacre, Spiritbox, Björk, VAST, and Purity Ring — creating music for fans who crave both emotional resonance and sonic intensity. Lindsay Schoolcraft appeals to listeners of Lacuna Coil, Motionless in White, Linkin Park, and other genre-bending acts.

A JUNO-nominated artist, lead singer/songwriter Lindsay first gained international recognition as the keyboardist and backing vocalist for symphonic metal legends Cradle of Filth (2013–2020). Her contributions helped shape the band’s Hammer of the Witches (2015) and Cryptoriana (2017) albums, released under Nuclear Blast Records. Stepping into the spotlight as a solo artist, she released her debut album Martyr on October 11, 2019 via her own label Cyber Proxy Records which went on to be Juno Nominated in 2020. Co-written with Grammy Award winner Rocky Gray (formerly of Evanescence), Martyr blended metal with classical elements and ethereal harp, charting globally and laying the foundation for a devoted fanbase.

Lindsay’s career reflects not only creative fearlessness but also sustained recognition: she was awarded Artist of the Year at the Oshawa Music Awards in both 2021 and 2022, and Producer of the Year in 2023. In 2025, she received Producer of the Year at the DREAMS! Awards (Durham Region Excellence in Arts, Music, and Sounds) for the track “Warn Me,” a B-side from Martyr released to celebrate its fifth anniversary. She also previously shared the stage with Evanescence and Lindsey Stirling on the Toronto stop of their Synthesis tour in 2018.

Beyond her solo work, Lindsay collaborates across a wide spectrum of heavy music. She has contributed vocals and harp to tracks by Motionless in White, Cancer Bats, Myrkur, and more — building a reputation as a versatile, sought-after guest artist.

In 2019, her gothic persona caught the eye of JP Ahonen, creator of the comic-metal band Belzebubs, who modeled the character “Skvllcraft” after her. Lindsay voiced the character on Belzebubs’ debut album Pantheon of the Nightside Gods (Century Media Records), appearing in both the music and animated visuals.

A classically trained harpist, pianist, and vocalist, Lindsay studied at the Royal Conservatory of Music (Toronto), received guidance from established vocal instructors, and briefly attended York University for opera and theory studies. She continues to evolve her craft through ongoing education in music theory, business, and production.
