Indigent started in the fall of 2025 when brothers Zach and Julian Lewis finally stopped talking about starting a band and actually did it. Both had been playing around Sioux Falls for years in different projects, knew the local scene inside out, and when they linked up with bassist Brett Kamerud, it just worked.
They played their first show with Rifflord and people noticed right away. Since then they’ve been building a real fanbase across South Dakota and Iowa — not followers, actual people who come to shows. In January 2026 they put out their debut EP, Take One, recorded and produced by Doug and Wyatt from Rifflord. Doug also plays in the Atlanta noise rock band Whores, and he brought that same no-BS energy to the sessions. The record sounds like them — no fluff, no filler.
Take One is out now. The Midwest is just the start.
