(Antti Pollari, 2025)

Finnish melodic metal act JÛN steps further into uncharted territory with its second single, The Endless Horizon, following the release of debut track Inception of Isolation earlier this year.

Originally formed around the compositions of guitarists Jukka Keskinen and Marko Männikkö, JÛN expanded in 2025 into a six-piece lineup of experienced musicians from across Finland. The band blends melodic metal foundations with a heavier and more aggressive edge, shifting between crushing directness and more atmospheric, winding passages.

With The Endless Horizon, JÛN develops this contrast further. The track begins in a more restrained and melodic space before gradually building into full-speed intensity, reflecting the band’s approach to dynamic songwriting, where atmosphere and melody remain central, even at their most extreme.

Drummer Mikko Orava shares his thoughts:

“While the debut single introduced our softer side, this track gradually grows into extreme metal proportions. It’s a strong example of our dynamic songwriting style, where beautiful melodies and atmosphere are ever-present, just waiting for the moment we hit the gas pedal and rip out the corner 200 km/h. Even the time signatures struggle to stay anchored in space and time, which isn’t surprising, considering the song’s distinctly intergalactic theme.”
