Lexi Layne Returns With “Judgement” A Cinematic New Alternative Metal Single
The Los Angeles alt-metal artist continues her tarot-driven narrative with the May 15, following the 2.4M-stream success of High Priestess Volume I.
LOS ANGELES, CA — Lexi Layne, the Los Angeles alternative metal artist whose 2025 EP High Priestess Volume I surpassed 2.4 million streams, drew over 55,000 monthly Spotify listeners, and earned editorial placements on Spotify’s All New Metal and Apple Music’s New Music Daily, today announces her new single “Judgement,” out May 15, 2026 via Community Music.
Produced by Kevin McCombs (Papa Roach, Story of the Year), “Judgement” marks the next chapter in Lexi Layne’s tarot-driven narrative arc, the body of work that has anchored her artistic identity since 2025. Where the EP’s earlier singles “The Tower” and “The Devil” explored collapse and temptation, “Judgement” confronts reckoning: the moment a life splits in two and a choice has to be made.
“‘Judgement’ is a visceral anthem about standing in the fire of public scrutiny and emerging transformed. Blending haunting tarot-inspired imagery with explosive emotion, channeling the chaos of condemnation into power, resilience, and self acceptance.” — LEXI LAYNE
The single arrives with an accompanying music video that extends the cinematic visual world established across the High Priestess campaign. The video pushes deeper into the theatrical, tarot-themed imagery that has defined the project — a direct continuation of, and bolder counterpart to, the visuals that drew critical praise from Music Connection Magazine, FemMetal, ThisFunktional, and Rock N Load Magazine, with Music Connection describing her as “very intense and dark but melodic and musical at the same time… stage presence that is unsurpassed in any arena.”
“Judgement” follows a pivotal stretch for the independent artist. On May 2, 2026, Lexi Layne supported Holy Wars (Rise Records / BMG) at the Los Angeles release show for the band’s Shadow Work / Light Work album — a slot that places her squarely in the contemporary alt metal conversation alongside acts like Spiritbox, Poppy, and Halestorm. She has built her audience without a major label, a trajectory powered by deliberate releases, distinctive visuals, and a deepening connection with the female-fronted heavy music community.
