Gluttony continues to establish itself as one of the strongest names in Sweden’s old-school death metal scene. Faithful to the sound that defined an entire generation in the early 90s, the band delivers rawness and authenticity, pushing the iconic HM2 pedal to the limit, the very sound that shaped the genre.
Formed in 2009 in Sundsvall, Sweden, by Anders, John and Max, also members of MY OWN GRAVE. Gluttony emerged with a clear vision: to honor the classic Scandinavian death metal sound.
In 2012, they released the Coffinborn demo, featuring Johan Jansson (INTERMENT, CENTINEX), which laid the foundation for their sound. The lineup was later solidified with the addition of Magnus Ödling (SETHERIAL, DIABOLICAL), who made his debut on the band’s first full-length album, Beyond the Veil of Flesh (Vic Records, 2014).
In March this year, Gluttony released their fourth full-length album, Eulogy To Blasphemy, worldwide on CD, LP, and digital formats via F.D.A. Records.

• Vocals: Magnus Ödling
• Bass: Max Bergman
• Guitar: Anders Biazzi
• Drums: John Henriksson
AN ALBUM THAT DEFINES THEIR LEGACY
Eulogy To Blasphemy has been met with strong praise from both fans and critics, achieving an average score of 8/10 across more than 20 reviews. The album captures all the essential elements of classic Swedish death metal: sharp “buzzsaw” riffs, headbanging-driven structures, and a relentless blastbeat foundation.
Beyond paying tribute to their influences, Gluttony stands out through its own identity. Magnus Ödling’s versatile vocals add depth to the band’s sound, while the one-guitar setup creates a raw, direct, and organic dynamic.
NEW VIDEO: “EXCORIATION THRALL”
As part of the album’s promotion, the band presents the official video for “Excoriation Thrall,” a piece that embodies Gluttony’s darkest and most visceral essence.
Filmed in the frozen landscapes of Sundsvall, Sweden, during the harsh winter of 2025, the video was directed by Håkan Sjödin (HS Media), known for his work with Marduk. The production enhances the oppressive and brutal atmosphere that defines both the track and the band’s visual identity.
“Excoriation Thrall” represents pure horror:
Excoriation: tearing or stripping the flesh
Thrall: a state of uncontrollable obsession
The result is an immersion into the mind of a frenzied entity consumed by madness and destruction, brought to life through a raw and disturbing visual narrative.
With Eulogy To Blasphemy and this new audiovisual release, Gluttony not only reaffirms its commitment to the old-school sound, but also proves that Swedish death metal remains as powerful, aggressive, and relevant as ever.
