UK post-hardcore unit RULED BY RAPTORS return with their new single and video, Algebra (I’m On A Rage), out now. The track is taken from their forthcoming mini-album, A Shadow That Never Moves, which arrives on Friday 2nd October. Building on the foundations of their previous work, the release sees the band push their sound further, combining progressive influences, driving riffs and melodic vocals with a heavier, more expansive approach. Formed in 2019, RULED BY RAPTORS, Chris Bradley (vocals/guitar), Matt Dewar (guitar/vocals), Nick Oliver (bass/vocals), and Will Robson (drums), have quickly earned a reputation for their energetic live shows and relentless approach to songwriting. The band have appeared at festivals including Slam Dunk and Bloodstock, while also securing support slots, airplay on Kerrang! Radio and BBC Introducing, and coverage across the UK rock and metal press.
Algebra (I’m On A Rage) is a standout moment from A Shadow That Never Moves, reflecting the band’s continued evolution and growing confidence as songwriters. Chris Bradley explains: “We originally planned to follow up Silent Sound quickly, but the project grew into an eight-track release after recording with Sam Cook in December 2023. Delays, including family illness, meant we had to pause before returning to finish the record, with Matt mixing and Bob Cooper mastering. We wanted to push the sound forward while staying true to what makes RULED BY RAPTORS who we are.”
With A Shadow That Never Moves, RULED BY RAPTORS continue to carve out their place within the UK heavy music scene, delivering their most ambitious and dynamic release to date.
