XENITH continue to build momentum with the release of their new single and video, Incite The Tragedy, which are both out now. The track is the latest to be lifted from the band’s forthcoming debut album, To No Avail, due for release on Friday 28th August, and further showcases XENITH’s blend of melodic death metal and thrash. Hailing from Manchester, UK, XENITH features vocalist and guitarist Billy Hourigan, guitarist Casey Dennis, bassist Jamo Morris, and drummer Karim Treifi. Formed in 2024, the band introduced themselves with their self-titled debut EP, combining aggressive thrash with melodic death metal and establishing a clear musical identity. They followed with the standalone single Swim, before unveiling Killer Instinct, the first single from their forthcoming debut album, To No Avail, which received early support from Metal Hammer. The band also shared the stage with thrash veterans Evile, further cementing their reputation as a formidable live act.
Drawing influence from bands such as At The Gates and Opeth while forging their own sound, XENITH’s debut album, To No Avail, expands on the foundations laid by their earlier releases. The record leans further into melody while retaining the precision, aggression and intensity that define the band’s sound. Billy Hourigan comments: “Working with Cam Shuck on the mix and master really helped us bring out the raw emotion we wanted on To No Avail. We were drawing from early At The Gates and Opeth but trying to channel that through our own voices.”
Written and recorded over the past year, To No Avail marks XENITH’s first full-length release and reflects the band’s continued development as songwriters, balancing melodic death metal with the speed and bite of thrash across ten tracks.
