in:tides – Glasgow Post-Rock Collective Announce Debut Album
Premiere “Procession” Video Via Everything Is Noise
Glasgow instrumental post-rock outfit in:tides have announced the release of their self-titled debut album, due out on November 20 via Ripcord Records. Alongside the announcement, the band have premiered the music video for lead single “Procession” via Everything Is Noise.
Built around atmosphere, emotion and movement, “Procession” opens the door to the band’s debut album, introducing its blend of melodic subtlety, driving rhythms and powerful crescendos.
Everything Is Noise praised the track, commenting: “in:tides showcases their ability to craft delicate yet powerful aural tapestries by means of intensity and prowess, things both beautiful and haunting.”
Speaking about the new single, the band states: “‘Procession’ is the opening track and first single from the album, built around a driving rhythm and a melodic hook that gradually evolves throughout the track. The theme is dark, open to interpretation and, like the name suggests, the track is a continuous series of events that offers the first glimpse into what the album has to offer.”
Blending ambient textures, melodic guitars and powerful crescendos, in:tides move effortlessly between quiet, reflective passages and towering walls of sound, allowing each composition to unfold as its own cinematic journey.
Since forming, the Glasgow quartet have released two EPs, steadily refining a sound influenced by the likes of This Will Destroy You, Caspian, Mogwai and Explosions in the Sky. Rather than imposing a fixed narrative, their instrumental approach leaves space for listeners to find their own meaning within the music.
Their forthcoming debut album brings together everything the band have developed over the years. Built on contrasts between restraint and release, delicate ambience and overwhelming crescendos, the record represents a new chapter for in:tides, while remaining rooted in the emotional and cinematic sound that has defined them from the beginning.
