KIDPUNK sign to Easy Life Records and release new single ‘Surrender’

Newcastle punk-rockers KIDPUNK have today announced their signing to Easy Life Records. Their first release for the label is the hard-hitting new single ‘Surrender’.

Speaking about the new single, vocalist Shaun Wright shares: “Surrender is a song that can be interpreted in many ways, but to me it’s a metaphor for those moments when defeat or heartbreak feels inevitable, but there’s something more honourable going down swinging rather than surrendering without a fight.”

Having independently released two EPs and a string of singles, KIDPUNK have built their name through a DIY approach, with their BLACKEYE EP surpassing one million streams and sparking viral moments across social media.

Hailing from Newcastle, England, KIDPUNK are a four-piece punk rock band quickly making their mark with raw energy, sharp songwriting and a growing presence across the UK scene.

Originally launched as a solo project by Shaun, KIDPUNK evolved into a full band when he brought in school mate Daniel Thompson (Drums), later joined by Brandon Proctor (Bass) and Wade Currin (Guitar) to complete the lineup. With punk rock running through Shaun’s family and a lifelong obsession with writing records and playing shows, the band quickly became the vehicle for turning that obsession into something much bigger.

The result is a band built for the stage. Daniel Thompson’s ferocious drumming, Brandon’s pitch-perfect harmonies and Wade’s unmistakable lead guitar combine with Shaun’s songwriting to create KIDPUNK’s unapologetic, high-energy sound.

For the past few years, KIDPUNK have taken the true DIY route: playing wherever they can, taking whatever support slots come their way and giving every show everything they’ve got, whether the room is packed or practically empty. Back home in Newcastle, their annual headline show has become a growing fixture, with the crowd getting bigger every year. Away from the stage, Shaun has remained relentlessly focused on writing and refining the band’s sound.

Now, KIDPUNK enter their next chapter, having signed to Easy Life Records and releasing their new single ‘Surrender’. After years of building their name from the ground up, the band are ready to take everything they’ve created on the DIY circuit and push it further. The crowds are growing, the songs are getting bigger and KIDPUNK are only getting started.
