German Black Metal Collective BELTEZ Announce Self-Titled Fifth Album; Share “Gebahren der Unvernunft” Lyric Video!
More than a decade after re-emerging from the shadows of Cologne’s underground, German black metal collective BELTEZ will release its fifth, self-titled album on December 4 via Vendetta Records. Taking its place alongside its two predecessors, “Beltez” stands as the band’s most focused, fierce, and emotionally resonant work yet. To mark the announcement, the band have unveiled the album’s first single, “Gebahren der Unvernunft,” accompanied by an official lyric video, which you can watch here:
Across its towering compositions, the album channels the spirit that has defined the band’s journey since their re-appearance in 2015: a seamless union of relentless aggression, haunting atmosphere, and deeply evocative songwriting. Rooted in the icy traditions of black metal yet unbound by convention, “Beltez” traverses vast emotional landscapes where despair, defiance, contemplation, and catharsis collide.
Where previous releases expanded the band’s artistic horizons through ambitious concepts and immersive storytelling, “Beltez” turns inward. For the first time in a long time, the album contains lyrics solely written in German, reflecting on the struggles in life. The result is an album that feels both intimate and monumental – a work that captures the very core of the band’s identity while pushing their sound to new heights of intensity and depth.
The songwriting blends in with the band’s previous albums, whilst introducing fresh elements. Fans of their earlier work will recognise driving, meditative riffs and drum walls, which build to climactic moments with melancholic and epic undertones, whilst dynamic, accentuated drum patterns culminate in blasting storms.
Continuing in the vein of their previous albums, BELTEZ continue to resist the temptations of overly modern production styles. The drums are real and authentic, with physical instruments and amplifiers have been used, rather than soulless plug-ins.
