What was the beginning point for your music career? How did it all start?
Maybe, the first important step was in January 2009, when I joined the band Elferya. I left this bandin 2018 and co-founded the band Chaoseum with more intentions.
Was there any bumps on the road? What kind of challenges did you have to deal with?
In 2019, when we finished our US tour with Soulfy, we had to change our singer. We weren’t satisfied with her during the tour. We had an important gig in Lausanne one month later with a recording audience. We had to quickly find a new singer and by chance, CK was ready, just in time.
What was the most fulfilling and satisfying moment so far?
Of course, playing in LA at Whisky a Go Go is a great satisfaction, but I prefer to say that our Russian tour with Tarja in 2019 was the most fulfilling moment. Tarja and her band are really great and Russian people too.
How would you describe the music that you typically create?
Our music sounds between nu and metalcore, close bands like Korn, Trivium, Slipknot or Alice In Chains.
What is your creative process like?
Loïc writes the main musical part. CK and I write the lyrics and together we make all the arrangements.Then, we record a first version and make some modifications.
If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?
I would like the industry to give more chances to promote more new bands.
If you were asked to give a piece of advice to upcoming bands, what would that be?
Be sure that everyone has the motivation, ambition, musical taste and are able to work together for a long time.
What has been the best performance of your career so far?
Our gig in Lausanne at Les Docks in 2019. That was incredible and we also had a chance to record this one. This live album is available on music streaming services and the video is on YouTube.
If you didn’t become a musician, what would you be doing now?
I’ll be watchmaker. I learned this job when I was 15.
What is new with the band at the moment?
What are you currently working on and would like to share with the world?We’re realizing a lot of videos and writing new songs.It is important to stay active while waiting to be able to play concerts again.
