What was the beginning point for your music career? How did it all start?
It all started with me (Guitarist Tony) looking on Craigslist and finding the drummer. After that we started a couple bands before this one, but they didn’t work out until we got this group together.

Were there any bumps on the road? What kind of challenges did you have to deal with?
Probably finding good people for the band was the hardest part. We had a few vocalists before the one we have now, and same with bassists.

What was the most fulfilling and satisfying moment so far?
Probably playing live shows and seeing the people mosh to our song and getting pumped. Also, putting out our EP on Spotify was satisfying.

How would you describe the music that you typically create?
A mix of  deathcore and black metal. We try and make our stuff melodic, yet keep the heaviness of deathcore which is a pretty delicate balance we have to go for.

What is your creative process like?
One of us will come up with a riff, then bring it to the jam, and we will just all add parts til we feel it is done. Then the vocalist will write lyrics to the song and that’s usually the last thing that happens.

If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?
Put more heavy music on live FM radio to increase an untapped fan base.

If you were asked to give a piece of advice to upcoming bands, what would that be?
DO NOT give up. Keep working hard. The guys you look up to probably slept in cars after some of their shows out of state. Hardship leads to success.

What has been the best performance of your career so far?
We did a house show in Gaylord, MI and people were INTO it big time.

If you didn’t become a musician, what would you be doing now?
Probably doing something with skateboarding, like running a skate shop.

What is new with the band at the moment? What are you currently working on and would like to share with the world?
We are working on a full length album with a certain subject for all of the songs. We are hoping to start recording in September or so. Our EP “The Descension” is released on spotify/apple music/ amazon music/ band camp.
Just search for GoreThrone. We also have a Lyric video on our YouTube page for our song “Celestial Noose” that goes EXTREMELY hard. Please check it out!
