What was the beginning pint for your music career?
Guinness. What else?
How did it all start?
Myself and Jonny Ball (Guitar/Vocals/Arrangement) have been friends for almost a decade, we have recorded and toured with separate bands extensively across the UK and Europe. We had talked about forming our own project before but it was only last year we finally decided it might be a good idea to make some music together.
Was there any bumps on the road?
Not really.
What kind of challenges did you have to deal with?
Well the biggest pain in the arse is doing interviews…just kidding, the main challenges we face usually revolve around the multi-coloured pinwheel of death when using music software.
What was the most fulfilling and satisfying moment so far?
Releasing our debut single “Marshmallow” which came out on 17/09/21! We have been building up to our first release for over a year now so seeing it leave the nest is a very rewarding thing, especially as it’s picking up radio plays and getting loads of great feedback along the way, couldn’t ask for much more really…other than a record deal.
How would you describe the music that you typically create?
Indie / Pop with a sweet twist of Soul.
What is your creative process like?
Over the last year we had to do a lot of writing remotely, this typically involved us sending voice memos back and forth which formed basic song ideas. If these ideas had legs then we’d build around them and develop them properly at Jonny’s home studio in Stockport. I wouldn’t say we’re anchored to just one singular process though, for instance sometimes lyrics come first and sometimes melody does, we just build around whatever we think has got potential.
If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?
TikTok.
If you were asked to give a piece of advice to upcoming bands, what would that be?
Stay true to yourself and only make music you want to make, not just because it’s trending! Build up a following slowly rather than jumping on the bandwagon and riding some mild fame for a year, you’ll have fans for life if you keep your integrity.
What has been the best performance of your career so far?
We’ve both toured the UK and Europe for years in separate bands, however our first show for this new project is on 06/11/21 at The Eagle Inn, Salford, to launch our first EP!
If you didn’t become a musician, what would you be doing now?
Certainly wouldn’t be answering these questions! Probably sat on my arse playing video games. Which I can still find time for if I plan right.
What is new with the band at the moment? What are you currently working on and would like to share with the world?
We’ve just released our debut single “Marshmallow” and we will have more singles and our first EP to follow in the not too distant future!
