Metal Queen’s Burning Night 2018 – a preview

Three days festival with free admission? Sounds like an interesting concept. The festival is being organized near Turin by the Associazione Metal Queen in collaboration with the metal band Wolfsinger. In 2013, the musicians Raffaella and Haron had the idea for this event. Italian underground bands with singer should get the chance to perform live in front of an audience and to promote their band. From the 25th to the 27th of May the organizers are inviting for the fifth time to Romano Canavese north of the metropolis Turin. Four bands will play Friday and Saturday, and five bands are planned for Sunday. The three evenings will be moderated by Mirella Catena (Web Radio Over The Wall) together with singer Raffaella Santini (Wolfsinger).

On the first day, the hosting band Wolfsinger will present a very special show. I already saw the band at last year’s Voices of the Succubi Festival in Malta. The evening will be completed by Elegy Of Madness (Symphonic Metal), Left4ever (Rock / Metal from Spain) and Dayslived (Heavy Rock).

On Saturday I will meet again two other bands who performed at the VOTS. Industrial Metal celebrate Psideralica from the Mediterranean island of Mallorca. From another island of the Mediterranean (Malta) Blind Savior will arrive – Power Metal at its best. On top of that, there’s horror metal from Deathless Legacy and classic Heavy Metal from RoadSkills.

And the Sunday promises to be interesting and varied as well. From Crossover (Jadish) to Thrash / Death (Extinction), Alternative (Feronia), Rock (Dhune) to Acoustic Folk-Rock (ElisaOver and the Leaves) the spectrum of the final day will range.

Organizing such a festival is certainly not cheap. In order to guarantee free admission at future events, the Associazione Metal Queen has launched a crowdfunding campaign.
