What was the beginning pint for your music career?
When I was 14 yrs old, I started playing guitar after hearing Metallica and justice for all, shortly after Threnody was formed
How did it all start?
Sean and Dave started Threnody in high school shortly after I (Bill) joined and the rest was history
Was there any bumps on the road?
Many, we started this band very young, we didn’t have proper guidance after some early success, we had all our equipment stolen at our practice space once, which caused a whole lot of problems back then as well. A couple line up changes as well.
What was the most fulfilling and satisfying moment so far?
Being able to complete this album, amongst a pandemic and all of us living in different states
How would you describe the music that you typically create?
Old School Death Metal but we try and write songs with good structure and a hook.
What is your creative process like?
I (Bill) usually start the process with some riffs, then Sean, Rich and I will structure and arrange them into songs, Dave will then write the lyrics and structure them into the song
If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?
Maybe I’m old school but I wish artist could sell more actual physical copies of music, not just streams all the time. There is something to be said about holding an album in your hand and reading it cover to cover
If you were asked to give a piece of advice to upcoming bands, what would that be?
Be true to what you want to be. Don’t try and be a band your not, play the music you would like to listen to and everything else will come
What has been the best performance of your career so far?
Playing with Napalm Death
If you didn’t become a musician, what would you be doing now?
Probably something in the music business one way or another
What is new with the band at the moment?
We have a new singer Harry Tadayon who actually sang on our latest release Rid of Flesh
What are you currently working on and would like to share with the world?
We are working on new music hopefully out at the end of the year, plus booking some upcoming shows
