156/SILENCE Debut New Single “A Past Embrace”

New Video Out Now!

Fresh on the heels of their ferocious new EP, “Don’t Hold Your Breath,” Pittsburgh’s rising hardcore/metal band 156/SILENCE have unveiled a new, unreleased single, “A Past Embrace,” from SharpTone Records.

Commenting on the new track, guitarist Jimmy Howell states:
“‘When we wrote the beginning riff to ‘A Past Embrace’ we knew immediately that it was going to be a different type of song for us. It really showcases all of the different aspects of our sound while also being a cohesive, weird track.” Delving into the song’s lyrical meaning, vocalist Jack Murray adds:

Everything expires. Things that once brought us feelings of grandeur and strength won’t always hold that power they once did. ‘This isn’t what I always loved. This isn’t fun. This is a past embrace.‘”

With no signs of slowing heading into their summer tour with THE ACACIA STRAINMALEVOLENCE and I AM156/SILENCE are on a warpath of musical devastation and are plotting their biggest year to date.

Established in 2015, 156/SILENCE represents the duality of light and dark. Combining vicious breakdowns and soaring melodies in the vein of genre pioneers like Poison The Well, Norma Jean and Daughters, 156 crafts songs that scream at the darkness but also whisper to the light.

The band came out of the gate swinging with their debut full length, “Undercover Scumbag,” in 2018.  That offering introduced the world to a new lineup and a new, more focused and ferocious musical direction. After touring relentlessly and sharing the stage with bands like Varials, Black Tongue, The Acacia Strain and I Am, followed it up with their 2020 sophomore outing “Irrational Pull” and 2022’s “Don’t Hold Your Breath” EP.

156/SILENCE Line-up:
