Helena Kotina was born in the city of Volos, Greece in 1994. At the age of 14 she started up guitar lessons at the local music school and was influenced by guitarists like Michael Schenker, Gary Moore, Tony Iommi, Richie Blackmore. At the age of 16 Helena started performing in live shows with bands from the local scene.

Later on, she moved to another city for University studies, and there she became a founding member and guitarist of the Goth rock/metal band Daffodil. The band has already released the first EP titled ‘A hope for things that never come’ through New dream records label, followed by a tour in and out of Greece. The EP has managed great resonance, especially in the countries of South America. One year later, the band entered the studio again and recorded the song At The Darkest Sides Of Danube‘ which was released as a single. Daffodil are now at the final part of production for their first full length album, titled ‘The sound of a second chance’, consisted of 10 tracks, and it will be released later this year.

In the last year, alongside the band, Helena is working on her own musical project. She has composed and just finished the recordings for her first EP titled One Of Those Days. The project is based on heavy/thrash metal genre and it’s much influenced by bands like Machine Head, Pantera, Arch Enemy, Testament. All the production of the EP took place in Soundflakes studios in Athens Greece.

It was my pleasure to have Helena on an Interview to talk about her solo career, upcoming EP, Daffodils and much more, She is a star to storm the world. Check out the amazing Helena on the below YouTube video.
