What was the beginning pint for your music career? How did it all start?

Hey there, thanks for having us. Originally Bevar Sea was a bedroom project of Srikanth Panaman and Kaustubh Thirumalai. However, the band formed into a quintet in late 2010 and currently consists of Avinash Ramchander, Michael Talreja, Ganesh Krishnaswamy, Srikanth Panaman and Preran Gulvady.

In 2012 we released our eponymous album ‘Bevar Sea’ which earned us the “Best Emerging Act” at the Rolling Stone Metal Awards India, a slot in the coveted Maryland Deathfest in 2013 and rave reviews worldwide. Mixed and mastered by the legendary Billy Anderson, the album was regarded highly for its 45-min hook-laden stoner/doom experience by fans and quickly garnered the band a firm reputation – in our country and internationally.

Was there any bumps on the road? What kind of challenges did you have to deal with?

Oh yes plenty of bumps on the road as with any artist out there. They range from financial to promotional, bookings and the likes, but all good man.

What was the most fulfilling and satisfying moment so far?

Every album (we’ve got 3 studio albums) has brought a sense of fulfillment for us and the reception we’ve got has been an icing on the cake.

How would you describe the music that you typically create?

Good old 70s and 80s rock merged with doom metal riffing.

What is your creative process like?

Srikanth writes our riffs and then the members put in their parts and we arrange it together. Ganesh writes our lyrics. We kind of play out our songs till we all happy with what they sound like and of course, we’ve got to feel them every single time when we strum those riffs.

If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?

Stop promoting artists that don’t have substance. But then again, there are million one-hit wonders out there and the bands making good honest music stand the test of time.

If you were asked to give a piece of advice to upcoming bands, what would that be?

Be realistic with your approach, balance out your lives and make sure you pay your personal bills first.

What has been the best performance of your career so far?

We’ve got plenty so it’s hard to pick and choose.

If you didn’t become a musician, what would you be doing now?

We work full time jobs and music is what we do once our shift is done and on the weekends. So yeah we’re pretty much doing everything. Haha

What is new with the band at the moment? What are you currently working on and would like to share with the world?

We’ve just dropped our 3rd album ‘The Timeless Zone’ and we’d like you all to check it out. It’s freakin rifftastic and pretty much has everything an album can hold. Check it out right here – bevarsea.bandcamp.com/
