MELODEATH THRASHERS PITCH BLACK MENTALITY RELEASE SOPHOMORE ALBUM ‘WORLD FINAL WAKE’
Five years in the making, WORLD FINAL WAKE is the new album from Norwegian Melodeath Thrashers PITCH BLACK MENTALITY. While the sound is a contemporary blend of aggressive thrash and melodic death metal, the roots of the sound can be traced firmly to the 80’s Bay Area Thrash scene as well as drawing heavily on 90’s Swedish metal influences.
Lyrically, the album looks outward to large scale societal issues (e.g. climate change), while also looking inward to personal struggles and various explorations of the concept of fate. Recorded in a private studio in the band’s native Bergen, Norway, the sound is a cohesive blend of brutal heaviness and catchy, melodic structure. The band engaged renowned Swedish metal studio Fascination Street Studio for production with Tony Lindgren and Ricardo Borges on the mixing and mastering, elevating the sound to make it more brutal, direct and heavy.

The Band:
Pitch Black Mentality is a project from Bergen, Norway, founded by Frank Natås in 2011. The band’s debut album ‘The Pitch Black Reality’ was recorded in both Norway and Chile and released in 2012. One lineup change later saw the current manifestation of the band ready to release their newest work after pouring in five years of blood, sweat and creativity.
