‘BORN TO FLY’
Leading into our UK Winter Tour in December we’re taking flight with our last single for 2022, ‘Born To Fly’! The inspiration for this track was David’s love of flying. From playing with a little balsa wood glider at the age of five to flying in a BAE Hawk, he was motivated to get his pilot’s licence and to one day own a jet fighter. He spent his holidays learning to fly and after seeing the Sydney Aerobatic Club, he set his sights on becoming an Australian Aerobatic Champion and achieved that goal in 1998. David would later acquire and learn to fly Spitfires and Vietnam War-era A37B Dragonfly light attack jets, which would lead to a host of other Warbird aircraft acquisitions. In 1999 he established the Temora Aviation Museum in New South Wales, Australia. David’s passion for flying has stayed with him ever since. “Doug & I got together in New York earlier in the year and worked on a riff that I had written previously. Doug had a chorus that just fitted, we messed around with the melody and came up with the name ‘Born To Fly’. This is a straight-up rock song. For me it’s literal, I was born to fly. The first single ‘Radiance’ radiated some heat on May 27th, just prior to the EU Summer Tour, with a meta cinematic, and a glimpse in the metaverse.
The 2nd single ‘Shine On’ came out on July 8th during the European tour along with the announcement of their US Fall Tour in September.‘Hypnotize Yourself’ the 3rd single was released on August 5th as they completed their EU Summer Tour.September 2nd saw the release of ‘Face Your Fear’ the 4th single all from the album ‘Radiance’.
In the fall the band headed out on their US Tour playing from the east to the west coast finishing in Seattle.This was closely followed by the release of‘RADIANCE’–the album which shone bright on September 30th hitting global charts,airplay of all ten tracks and rave reviews.On November 11th‘Born To Fly’ took flight with an adrenaline fueled video based around David’s love of flying! December will bring a massive year to a close with an eight date UK & IE tour kicking off at the famous Rock City in Nottingham.The Dead Daisies are pushing forward, giving energy and taking chances to ensure that every person who experiences them has no doubt that Rock is Indeed Alive & Well.So,turn it up, come to a show,enjoy the ride & ROCK with us
