What was the beginning piont for your music career? How did it all start?
It all started propably with me wanting to learn the piano at 9 years old. It didnt last, but it did open up the world of music and playing it for me. There I went to guitar as the salesman in the instrument shop wouldnt sell me a bass if I didnt know how to play guitar. That soon changed though
Was there any bumps on the road? What kind of challenges did you have to deal with?
The biggest bump is propably my attention span, having ADHD doesnt really help with keeping the focus on one thing and its impossible to force myself to do something even if I want to.
What was the most fulfilling and satisfying moment so far?
Propably when we finished the album thst is coming out. Getting over with it after some bumps in the road and having something I have participated in creating was extremely satisfying
How would you describe the music that you typically create?
Its mostly metal, I am a big fan of classical music and musicals though so I do tend to bring that in somehow, if its a “hidden” reference to a musical, the vibe or the movement. I tend to sneak it in even if I mean to or not
What is your creative process like?
Its mostly using my phone for notetaking and recording my voice. A riff pops into my head and I sing it, or a line pops up and I write it down. Then I try to puzzle it together
If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?
Less elitism, more support. So many look down on other artists or act as they are the best. Dudes will stand in the back of the crowd and after the show they’ll come up to you with criticism and unsolicicated tips because they think they are better and it just becomes irritating in the end. For the support I’d love to see the change of being open to new acts. The acts you see on festivals have already been playing for 30 years and everyone ignores the new stuff so they wont ever become the new “it” because nobody wants to be a little openminded. People should also go to local shows more, support the community and if the band sucks, they suck, and thats that. We all suck at one point
If you were asked to give a piece of advice to upcoming bands, what would that be?
Save money, stay away from managers in the beginning and have fun with it. Bands are expensive. Gear breaks down, traveling for gigs cost money and putting out music in good qualitu required a recording of anysort and then paying someone to master and mix it. And dont force yourself to one genre, find out what works for you. Going in for the first time with the mindset of thinking “We will make thrash metal” makes you ignore every potential of good stuff you write if you think it isnt thradh enough. Do it for the love of making music, thats how you shine
What has been the best performance of your career so far?
Hulen, Bergen. Hands down. Amazing place where the venue is in tunnels from an old public bomb shelter. The crew was great, sound wad amazing, stage was fun to play on and the crowd was CRAZY
If you didn’t become a musician, what would you be doing now?
I’d propably just be the same old me except more boring. I have a career as a chef and am a father so nothing would change except for lack of musical interest
What is new with the band at the moment? What are you currently working on and would like to share with the world?
We are releasing a new album in 25.11.22 which will be available on all music streaming services. Simeon Ekse, the vocalist has already made one song for the next album while me and Christian Andre Rødfjell, who is festured on the new album as clean vocals and lyricist, are working on a side project within the band of creating a metal opera album. An album thst tells a story from the first song to the last.
