What was the beginning point for your music career? How did it all start?

So officially, we launched in October 2022 with our first single, unofficially, we met in a room for the first time in 2019 when DARLIN was merely a twinkle in our eye.

Was there any bumps on the road? What kind of challenges did you have to deal with?

For us, it was just making sure we had as much content as possible, in the bank, before we launched and often the collation of that content was delayed by external factors. Covid definitely didn’t help us. Now we’ve launched our main challenge is reaching as many people as possible with the increasing difficult to navigate algorithms that are embedded in the world of social media.

What was the most fulfilling and satisfying moment so far?

Our second single got picked up by Radio 1, so receiving that email from Nels was a huge rush for us.

How would you describe the music that you typically create?

Light hearted, pink powered pop rock. Often described as the love child of Fleetwood Mac & Paramore.

What is your creative process like?

Dan build a skeleton, Rob picks it apart and tighten it up in the demo process, everyone learns their parts and we change it up in the rehearsal room, then the final version is recorded by the beloved Oz Craggs of Hidden Track Studios.

If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?

It’s getting increasingly difficult for new bands to reach their fans and potential fans. Perhaps a new platform is needed. A lot of people would say the digital era is the death of music but we’d disagree, the digital era allowed us to be the band we are today, it just needs improving. A broken model is better than a lack of model.

If you were asked to give a piece of advice to upcoming bands, what would that be?

Make music that makes you happy, not music that you think other people will like.

What has been the best performance of your career so far?

We are yet to perform! Got loads of shows booked for 2023.

If you didn’t become a musician, what would you be doing now?

All of us have full time careers as well as this band. We have a social worker manager, a implementation manager, a retail manager and more!

What is new with the band at the moment? What are you currently working on and would like to share with the world?

We just released our THIRD single and are set to release our FORTH on February 14th 2023. As mentioned above, we’re also adding to the gig calendar as we speak so we are super excited to get on the stage.
