Interview with MJM

Greetings From Metalheads Forever Magazine, I’m Keith Clement, The Head of the Magazine, How are you today?

Hi Keith, I’m doing great man, crazy, lol!!

MJM IV was released in 2020, It’s been 2 years since the release. Would you like to go back and let me know the making of this album?

Back in 2017, we were planning to release an album that was a compilation of all our instrumental songs. I wanted to add a couple of new instrumental pieces. The making of MJM IV began with the completion the two new instrumental songs ‘MIND WARP’ and ‘FEATHER’ which we put out on our ‘INSTRUMENTAL’ album in 2018 as two new bonus tracks. The other songs on MJM IV were already in production, but we knew it would still take more time to complete a full new album. It was another two years of writing, recording, mixing and mastering before the album IV was ready for release.

Was there a theme or a concept that was put behind the album?

Yes, the concept of MJM IV is about space, aliens and the possibility that we could be being watched by them. Also, the idea that aliens are on earth breeding with humans, making HUMANOIDS. Hmm, “COULD IT BE’? There are also; other songs on the album that aren’t space or alien related. ‘Death Crimes’ is about a serial killer. ‘Loves a Crime’ is about how relationships can leave a person feeling really screwed up!

Nine amazing mind blowing metal awesomeness in the album, each and every song perfectly done, Thanks for the amazing music, how as a creator do you feel about the outcome?

Thanks for that! Yes, myself, I get quite pumped when I put on any song from the MJM IV album. I’m quite entertained. I listen to it and think, wow, that’s awesome! I’m proud of the way the songs turned out!

Are you planning to get back to the studio anytime soon?

We are in the studio right now recording a new single called ‘Live It Up’. Though releasing an entire album is our goal, we will be releasing some singles prior to the release of a new full MJM album. That’s the way of the world right now with Spotify and digital downloads.

How is the touring for the end of 2022 and 2023?

We’ve recently done some shows around Toronto, and we have a promoter working on a tour of the southern states. We hope that comes together in early spring 2023. Also, there have been some offers to play out west in the Vancouver area next summer. I’m looking forward to getting on the stage and kicking ass!

Four albums with MJM, and an awesome career in Rapid Tears and Adrenalin, how has the road been so far?

There is a lot of awesomeness that I’ve experienced, but it has been a hard road. Being a professional music artist is not really a normal life. There’s a lot of ups and downs, and waiting for things to happen. Sometimes it can feel like an uphill battle.

What would be some of the upcoming plans?

Getting our new single ‘Live it Up’ released, is the priority right now. Building the worlds awareness of MJM is constant job. Completing more songs for the next album will be keeping me busy.

What would be some of the most memorable moments of your musical Journey?

Having my live performances filmed by major television stations and then broadcasted hundreds of times on syndicated television networks is a real buzz.

Finally what would be the message for the fans?

Keep Rock & Roll alive. If the music doesn’t have a guitar in it, think twice about what you’re listening to.
