GIANT WALKER RELEASE ‘KATOOMBA’ FROM UPCOMING LIVE ALBUM ‘ALL IN GOOD TIME – LIVE AT ANARCHY’
Giant Walker are a Heavy Progressive Rock band from Newcastle, UK. After individually relocating 300 miles to further develop their craft, the Geordie quartet was coincidentally born in the South, bound together by their northern heritage and a shared love for bands such as Karnivool, Soundgarden, Radiohead and Deftones. Their music captures the many lows of loneliness and tips a hat to the music that gets you through hard times; sweeping you up in a conceptual journey, from giant riffs to melancholic melodies, and ambient soundscapes. Giant Walker have stitched together a sound, woven from the fabric of their influences, that can’t be found elsewhere.
Giant Walker’s debut album ‘All In Good Time’ picked up coverage with the likes of Daily Express, Sunday Sport, Rolling Stone, Metal Hammer, Planet Rock, BBC Radio 1 (Alyx Holcombe), Louder Sound/Prog Magazine, Classic Rock Magazine, Metal Sucks, Total Rock Radio (single of the week), Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Pandora, TIDAL, Distorted Sound Magazine, and many other respected publications and platforms. To celebrate the one year anniversary of their debut album Giant Walker have announced a live recording of ‘All In Good Time’, which will be released on June 7th 2023. The live performance was recorded in October at Anarchy Brewery in Newcastle, inspired by the many live concerts that were released during the pandemic. The band have offered a sneak preview of the live album, releasing Katoomba on the 17th May to give fans a teaser of what’s to come.
Vocalist Steff Fish explains, “Even from when we were initially recording the album, we had agreed that we’d love to do a live version, and so we thought the anniversary of the album would be a great opportunity to actually put that into motion.” She continues, “Because ‘All In Good Time’ was recorded before we’d played any of the songs live, we really wanted to capture how the songs have evolved since we initially recorded them, as well as showcase them in a live format.”
