“Numbrain” out now at Canadian Rock Radio!
Køster has paid the price for rock ‘n’ roll, debuting his first live show ever in a hospital gown suffering third-degree burns. Known for his wild side, he never slows down. Køster’s debut single, “Numbrain”, produced by Justin Benlolo of BRKN LOVE is out today on streaming platforms everywhere via Believe Digital. Packing a serious punch and bursting with vibrance, the track’s soaring guitar riffs and hard-hitting vocals are undeniably energetic. Listen to the track HERE!
“Numbrain’s a song about being tied down by your addictions and toxic people. I wanted to start this project off with a heavy debut track that has real lyrics and this was the easy choice,” explains Køster.
“Numbrain” was released to Canadian Rock Radio at the end of April 2023 and reached Top 10 Most Active Indie at Yangaroo DMDS. It was featured on X929, BCIT, and more. It also received press praise from The Sound Lab, calling it, “a well-made track with some nice modern sounds coming through. Can’t wait to play.” Recently, Køster sat down with Todd Hancock of Toddcast Podcast for a chat about the single, watch it HERE.
Now working on his upcoming album “What Did you Expect?” with Benlolo, the legendary Cone McCaslin of Sum 41 fame, and having teamed up with global online mentoring initiative Bandwagon, Køster was able to secure management with founder Leon Harrison of The Lazys.
On July 29th, Køster will be supporting The Lazys in Toronto at the legendary Horseshoe Tavern, presented by 94.9 The Rock. Tickets can be purchased HERE!
Although Køster only burst onto the music scene in 2022, he isn’t new to the game, having been the vocalist for now-defunct punk rockers The Fallaways. In the summer of ‘22 he made the move from Vancouver to Toronto to pursue his new project. Shortly after his arrival, he met Benlolo and before you could say ‘kindred spirits,’ there were two songs in the can, both co-written and produced by Benlolo. With Benlolo and McCaslin behind the board, Køster’s upcoming album is clearly going to be a powerful knockout.
Born in Switzerland and raised in Burns Lake, BC, Køster discovered his love for punk rock and alternative music like countless other young Canadians — by watching bands like Sum 41, Billy Talent and Rise Against on MuchMusic through his early teens. He soon realised his goal and purpose in life was to join their ranks.
Stay tuned for more exciting news from Køster!
