“Seven Thorns”

Seven Thorns is a Danish power metal band formed in 2007 and based in Copenhagen. They released their debut cd “Return to the Past” in 2010 through Nightmare Records. They then toured. europe in support of their release. They played as support to such bands as Circle II Circle, Lillian Axe and Raven.

The second cd “II” was released in 2014 to positive reviews.

By mid-2015, the line-up changed and Swedish vocalist Björn Asking as well as bassist Mads Mølbæk were brought on board.

The band continued to play frequent shows and festivals throughout Europe and even made an appearance on Denmark’s Got Talent. Though I was unable to watch the show, I was able to see the clip on Youtube. There was something special that struck me while viewing the clip. Seven Thorns is a band that loves what they do and they show how much fun they are having. This is not a common thing in the world of heavy metal. Even when they lobe what they do, with most bands it does not necessarily show while they perform.

Seven Thorns is a rare MHF Member Band. Most MHF bands have one or two musicians that are members of MHF. With Seven Thorns, every band member is a member of MHF. With that being said, we give a special shout out to Björn Asking, Gabriel Tuxen, Mads Mølbæk, Lars Borup and Asger W. Nielsen.

Seven Thorns have recently released their latest cd “Symphony of Shadows”. According to the band this latest release is heavier and a bit darker than previous releases.
