Formed in Vienna, Austria by vocalist and songwriter Andreas Schuster, Evon Rose are purveyors of immersive, emotive, atmospheric alternative rock. The first Evon Rose album, New Shores, was released in 2018 and right from the start the depth and quality of the songcraft was overwhelmingly evident. It was six years before second album, Thunder Rumbling, emerged – but the number of those intervening years was rendered irrelevant by the sheer stature of the songs that Evon Rose had delivered. Rock Magazine spoke of songs that were “magnificent and highly emotional”, “haunting and beautiful”, while Time For Metal described the album as “powerful and emotional rock”. The artistic success of Thunder Rumbling seems to have lit a creative fire in Andreas Schuster and Evon Rose as it was followed quickly by The Bond, a superb five track EP in 2025 and the third full length album is scheduled to arrive in the spring of 2027. Speaking about the new Evon Rose single, Andreas Schuster explains,
“’Do You Wanna’ is all about making peace with the kid you used to be. Walking out of the smoke you’ve been carrying for years and finally stepping into who you were always meant to be.”
It’s a song that brings out the very best qualities of Schuster’s voice – his tone, control and seemingly effortless delivery. With its rich, deep synths and measured power the atmosphere of ‘Do You Wanna’ curls around you like a sentient smoke, drawing you into its dreamlike ambience. When the chorus steps out of the darkness it’s soaring, spirit lifting…it embraces you and enfolds you. ‘Do You Wanna’ is the perfect representation of Evon Rose’s ability to craft songs that connect immediately with the listener and stay with them for a lifetime. It hints at a wealth of treasures to come when that third album arrives with the spring…
Produced and mixed by David Piribauer (Sear Bliss, Visions Of Atlantis etc) and mastered at Sterling Sound (Mastodon, Evanescence, Cult Of Luna etc), ‘Do You Wanna’ sounds immense. It is accompanied by a video directed by respected Austrian videographer Lukas Andrej Grossl, which stands proudly alongside the remarkable visual work that Evon Rose have released in the past, like the outstanding and ambitious official video for the track ‘Something More’. ‘Do You Wanna’ will be released on October 9th through Timbits Records to coincide with the band’s German/Austrian tour.
