AS IT IS release ‘Cheap Shots & Setbacks X’, featuring Mikey Chapman of Mallory Knox and Alex Costello/Alex Adam of ROAM
‘Never Happy, Ever After X’, a complete re-working of their debut album, out April 18th

Transatlantic pop-punk/emo quartet, As It Is, have today released, ‘Cheap Shots & Setbacks X’, featuring a guest appearances from Mikey Chapman of Mallory Knox and Alex Costello/Alex Adam of ROAM.
Speaking of the collaboration, the band share, “Cheap Shots & Setbacks is probably one of our few positive anthemic songs. We always thought this would be our biggest single, but alas Dial Tones proved us wrong!
Back in 2014 in the backstage of a club in Bristol, Alex Adam & Alex Costello from ROAM demoed guest vocals on the bridge. It didn’t make the record for whatever reason but ten years later there was only one band we wanted ton guest for that bridge part. They’ve done it live with us countless times over the years and all our first big experiences as a band were together with ROAM. They simply had to appear on the record. We couldn’t get them back from the dead but we could get them to reprise their famous guestie spot one more time.
In 2015 we also spent the summer with Mallory Knox on the Warped Tour – Mallory have always been UK rock legends to us, and have had a similar journey in many ways to us. To have Mikey also sing on this track really turns this version into a full 2015 party. He blew us away in the studio and we’re so excited for people to hear this song the way it was always meant to be.”
The upcoming, ‘Never Happy, Ever After X’, is a complete re-recording of their debut album, featuring guest appearances on every track.
Speaking of the April 18th release, the band say, “we knew Never Happy, Ever After deserved a big ten year celebration, and what started as an idea to re-record a few singles, quickly snowballed into an unbelievably ambitious project.
We are incredibly excited to have a whole host of guests join in the celebrations, from artists that directly influenced the record like Hidden In Plain View and Transit, our friends and touring pals in Trash Boat, Holding Absence, ROAM and Mallory Knox and fresh new blood in the scene that As It Is have influenced in some way, like NOAHFINNCE and ARTIO – it is a record full of special full circle moments. From covering Sum 41 on YouTube to having Brownsound shred a solo on a song, and a long overdue collaboration with Kellin Quinn who Patty covered way back in 2011 and we toured with on the Never Happy cycle, this record encapsulates the 2015 scene we came up in whilst paying respect to the bands that influenced it and the new bands that are moving it forward into the future. We can’t wait for people to hear this new version of Never Happy, to get to celebrate this record with so many friends and heroes was inconceivable to the kids that wrote this record ten years ago. This may be the one of the most special records to us that we’ve ever made.”
